ProjectSNOWMAN.com was established in December of 2005, and was originally just a personal website of Tristan's. Before ProjectSNOWMAN.com we were ProjectSNOWMAN.tk, established during the summer of 2005. The limitations of working with a .tk domain were evident though, and the upgrade to a .com domain was the first step to eternal glory.
During January and February of 2006, Tristan, Eddeh and Cromwell (Adam) decided to film some short videos using a web cam for a bit of fun. These videos had no sound and were of poor quality, but everyone seemed to enjoy watching them, so a page dedicated to these video clips was added to the site. We then became more ambitious, splashing out on a more expensive web cam to make better quality videos, now with sound! At this point we were getting a decent amount of visitors who wanted to watch these videos, and so the site became dedicated to just the videos.
Our peak popularity came in March/April of 2006. Unfortunately shortly after that, with exams coming up the site died due to a lack of video updates. Even when the exams were over, Project: SNOWMAN struggled to find its feet again. Tristan was becoming increasingly frustrated by the sites generic layout and the willingness to re-code it all was all but gone. Eddeh was on the verge of quitting the team following Cromwell's departure, things looked bleak.
Thankfully one weekend in September, Tristan found the spark to give the site it's much needed make over. With a new look site a new look Team was needed. So Chris Loland and John McCrory were added to the ranks, joining Eddeh and Mr Trister in there quest to make videos. Armed with a digital camera and more advanced video editing software, Project: SNOWMAN improved dramatically. It could never last though, by October 2007 Tristan had to leave town to start uni, 2 and a half hours away down at Southampton.
It was unclear whether or not this would be the end of Project: SNOWMAN. By Christmas the site hadn't seen any activity for months and Tristan was actually talked out of deciding not to renew it. The future of Project: SNOWMAN was cast into further doubt by summer 2008. Tristan had been back in Cardiff for almost 3 months, yet the Team hadn't got together and filmed once. Then one afternoon John went to Tristan's place, they sat down and out of the blue, decided to film something. Half hour later after some intense brain storming 'Health and Safety' went into production. This saw the revival of Project: SNOWMAN, as many many more videos who filmed in the following weeks.
